We subtitle broadcast tapes of feature and documentary films for many different television broadcasters in Germany and abroad. Our regular customers include the Westdeutsche Rundfunk (WDR) and Classica/Premiere.
In addition, we also offer subtitled versions of German television productions on
Digital Betacam for international press and distribution purposes.
Subtitling for television differs in several respects from subtitling for other media. Since the screen size of home television sets is generally smaller, subtitles cannot be read as fast as in the cinema and are therefore displayed longer on-screen. The font, size and color of the subtitles can be individually selected to meet the needs of each project. We can also carry out any other titling that may be required, such as creation and/or reworking of beginning and end titles, on-screen texts and captions regarding time, place or names.
Our character generators are programmed for time-code controlled in and out points with half-frame accuracy in real time and tape-to-tape - in HD and SD, for PAL and NTSC. We are the only company in the world providing these services for HD. We can also, of course, work with professional subtitle files that are supplied to us.
